چکیده
Introduction. Homocysteine is an amino acid that formed in the metabolism of methionine as quantitatively most important metabolite. Its chemical structure has been known for 90 years and its biological roles are still being investigated. Under normal conditions, homocysteine present plasma at concentration 5 - 9 mmol/l. When cell capacity reached, it transported to extracellular space, until intracellular level normalized. If unable reach required levels homocysteine, accumulates blood hyperhomocysteinemia occurs. Discussion. It determined many factors, such congenital enzyme deficiency, age, sex, inadequate diet (vitamin B complex deficiency) increase blood. Impaired kidney function, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, well medications, can have effect on homecysteinemia. Increased accelerates process atherosclerosis by several different mechanisms represents independent risk factor occurrence cardiovascular diseases adverse cerebral events. The prevalence estimated 5% general population 13 47% among patients with symptomatic atherosclerotic vascular disease. Conclusion. For these reasons, should be monitored corrective measures implemented, which include sufficient intake folic acid, vitamins B12 B6, doses depend fasting after load test.

[Hyperhomocysteinemia as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease].
Cardiovascular and peripheral vascular disease are the major cause of morbidity and mortality in general population today. Hyperhomocysteinemia, a new independent risk factor for atherosclerotic vascular disease, has been described in the last ten years. Moderate hyperhomocysteinemia occurs in 5-7% of general population, and is associated in the third and fourth deceny of life with premature co...

Potential psychological risk factors for cardiovascular diseases (CVD) can be grouped in three domains. The first consists of negative affective states including depression, anxiety, distress, and anger, the second includes personality patterns such as Type A behavior pattern and Type D personality, and the third comprehends social factors including socioeconomic status and social support (1). ...
